Letter to Star Scott

A recent post on My Calvary Temple Tactics Commentary is reprinted here.  This letter to Star Scott is from the heart, revealing the writer's desire to see Star Scott repent and make right decades of injury to the flock he claims to love.  I pray he goes before God and truly listens to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Guests Speak – Letter to Bob Scott (1/17/2024)

God’s timing is always perfect. I believe that the request to publish this “Letter to Bob Scott” came at just the right time.

The author has requested to remain anonymous, and I am obliging this request.

Why? Because after speaking out for more than 16 years now, we know the drill. We know what Bob Scott is going to do with this.

Unless…

But God! Is this the message that will finally get through to him? To his companions in misery? His minions? His Bobites? His captives?

Only God knows. This has always been our prayer. This has always been our focus. Jesus came to set the captives free. Bob Scott – let God’s people go! Repent! For such a time as this.

Without further comment, I present, “Letter to Bob Scott”:

Hello Bob Scott,

You recently mentioned in one of your recent sermons that you would admit to and change the way you did things and stop them IMMEDIATELY if someone brought to your attention any wrongdoings that were backed by facts and scripture. Bob, many, MANY individuals have not only brought you facts, but they have brought them to pastors and deacons under your guidance and have been shrugged off. You have turned a blind eye to what was brought to you and turned the tables on these individuals and reprimanded them by putting them on “visitor” status, reprimanded and embarrassed them from your pulpit-pedestal, even kicked them out and marked them for “causing discord” when all they did was bring you the truth in love. Truth in love that you often preach. These individuals are scorned and judged and the congregation is told that they questioned the very Word of God and couldn’t have possibly heard from God, even going to the extent of saying that these individuals twisted scripture to benefit themselves. It has even been mentioned by several of these individuals that they were told that they were right, but that things would not change because “that is just the way it is done around here”. It is obvious that when someone does bring something biblical to you it does not concern, convict, or prick your heart spiritually. Do you even hear from the Holy Spirit? Do you not hear the Holy Spirit telling you that what you are doing is grieving God? You bring a reproach and grieve the Holy Spirit with your attitude and actions. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines reproach as:

Reproach:

An expression of rebuke or disapproval

The act or action of reproaching or disapproving

A cause or occasion of blame, discredit, or disgrace

Bob, you are not without reproach! You are a shepherd that has been given charge over a flock and have stood in that pulpit for 50 years while you have a very large “stain” on your reputation! Have you asked God for forgiveness for this “stain”, yes, but any true, humble pastor would have stepped down and faded into the background when that stain was revealed and let another qualified, proven pastor begin to lead. Scripture clearly states that those who are leaders of the flock of Christ must be blameless as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, and not greedy for money. (Titus 1:7) 1 Timothy 3:2-3 states that a leader must be blameless, husband to one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous. Bob, you are not blameless! You have destroyed countless families in mere seconds, by spewing lies about them, because they confronted you on lies you have told, brought you spiritual truths that convicted you, or BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT THEY HEARD FROM GOD and you wanted to keep them quiet. You are covetous and greedy and have a lust for money and things that are not yours. If you or Greer want a new car, you get it. If you and Greer want to go to Tahoe or on some lavish vacation, you go. If you or Greer want designer clothing, you get it, not even thinking about whether it’s greed and lust fueling that desire to get, get, get! Do you and Greer tithe on your income? Do you give offerings and require yourselves to pledge money toward missions or building projects, or anything else you suddenly demand the congregation to pledge to? Or are you going to demand everyone pledge toward something then have them give written permission to have it used toward something undetermined and suddenly you go on a surprise vacation or you have another car or renovate your home? Do you even realize or care that you have members of your congregation who are struggling to make ends meet and put food on their table because they know that if they miss their tithe or pledge they’ll be called on by their deacon and told that they are on “visitor” status until they start tithing again? You gloat and boast about the things you have. You are not humble.

You are constantly saying that you and the congregation are doers of the Word, yet when do any of you visit or care for or have compassion on orphans and widows as James 1:27 says to do? Or is it that compassion is shown only to the widows who can bring money into Calvary Temple coffers? You have no ministry directed to or for widows, orphans, or the elderly! Or even a ministry to help those in your congregation who are struggling financially.

The ministries that you do have are those that can bring in people who can put money into the coffers, with the exception to the prison ministry. You have used your lust-filled and covetous heart to purchase expensive cars to put on display to bring in well-to-do individuals, who could potentially join the congregation to bring in more money. Speaking of the prison ministry, it is great to have one, and yes, the men who are brought into the Calvary Temple fold are forgiven, but ARE YOU PROTECTING the congregation properly from the actions that put them into prison in the first place? Are you protecting the children from becoming potential victims of egregious acts that some of these men were convicted of? Are you ensuring these men are counseled and not being put into positions to be tempted to commit these acts again? There are several in your leadership circle, close friends to you, and members of the congregation who have been accused of physical and other egregious abuses, including yourself, have you investigated these accusations or are you continuing to sweep them under the rug and tell the accusers that they are making up stories? How many kids have been scared and threatened into silence because of what was done to them? How many kids have been told, “Your parents are my friend and they’ll never believe that I hurt you like that!” How many have been told, I can kick out your family if you say anything? How many former students have to tell the same story about the abuses they experienced at the hands of associate pastors, teachers, and even their peers before you or someone finally takes the accusations seriously?

Bob, how many more families are you going to destroy because you want to see someone in the family break? How many more kids are you going to brainwash into thinking that if they or their siblings or even their parents leave Calvary Temple they will be leaving God? I know many who watched the Christmas program online. Many wouldn’t understand why a Christmas program was written about a broken family and why the mom would tell her kids her husband left because he didn’t love God anymore. Those of us who have left Calvary Temple know that this is just another instance of instilling fear into the children who are in the school. Fear that if they or any member of their family leave Calvary Temple they are leaving God and will go to hell because they are now serving their flesh. It does not matter whether or not the person who is leaving was prompted by the Holy Spirit to go to another congregation, it does not matter if the person leaving is leaving because their job is moving them somewhere else. If a person decides to leave and take their family with them, that is their decision alone, they do not need counseling from you or your cohorts. It is theirs alone, especially if they feel that God is leading them elsewhere! It has been drilled into each child that if you leave Calvary Temple, you are leaving God! Bob, you are not the only person that can hear from God yet you make your congregation believe that they cannot be prompted by the Holy Spirit! Members of Calvary Temple can hear from the Holy Spirit outside of you and can be led by the Holy Spirit outside of you! Anyone who leaves Calvary Temple can still serve God and attend another church. Anyone who leaves Calvary Temple and goes to another church can still be fed the Word of God in a new church! Just because they leave Calvary Temple does not mean that they are automatically sinning and leaving God as you have said so many times from your pulpit-pedestal!

Bob, you are constantly speaking ill of other congregations and their pastors “because they are not like us”, because they do not have the same vision or requirements that you have placed on Calvary Temple. You assume that they do not follow the Word because they are not like Calvary Temple. God had gifted everyone with different gifts, just because a pastor at another church is “different” does not give you the right to slander or judge them for how they teach or lead the flock God has placed in their charge! Each church is different, and each pastor is different; their teaching style and leadership style are uniquely their own, gifted to them by God. Yet you stand in your pulpit and speak ill of them because they aren’t like you. In doing this, it shows those in your congregation that it is ok to be bullies. To speak ill of others and other churches without consequence. It teaches them it’s ok because it’s done in Christ! But that isn’t so! When did Jesus bully people?

Bob, you are boastful and proud. You and the leaders under you have taught the members of your congregation to be the same. You are not humble. You are haughty and you have shown your congregation that it is ok to be that way to others.

Bob, it is time for you to humble yourself, time for you to listen to the Holy Spirit and step down and repent. You know that the Holy Spirit is prompting you to ask for forgiveness from those whom you have slandered and spoken ill of. You speak often about members of the congregation asking “Can’t I say something to them just one more time, this time could be the time that they come to ask for forgiveness and apologize.” Have you ever once felt that you were speaking to yourself when you say those words? Or are you too prideful to feel that prompting? Maybe you need to do some serious introspection. Maybe you need to look deeply at your heart and truly understand that you are just a man and not the idol you have made yourself to be to the world around you. Does your heart break for all the chaos you have caused to hundreds of families? Does your heart break when you hear of another abuse accusation that was caused by someone under your guidance? Do you not see that there is a spirit of haughtiness and elitism that is bound to every member of your congregation that began with you? Do you not see the spirit of narcissism and control that nullifies your congregation’s choice of free will? No one in your congregation has a voice or the free will that God gave them after they become “members”. Everyone there has to do what Bob does or they are ostracized and looked down on.

Bob, you disrespect and speak ill of women and have taught the young men in your congregation to do the same. You have told the world that women are evil and are not to be trusted unless they submit to absolutely everything their husband, deacon, father, even you, without question. It makes one wonder how many women and young ladies are physically abused in their own homes because they question something their husband or father is doing that doesn’t feel right in their hearts. You preach that women are to be help-meets yet women are treated like housekeepers and baby-makers. You have instructed women to give their husbands physical relations regardless of how they feel and if they tell their husbands no, how many husbands force it from or manipulate it from their wives because you have instructed the women to be submissive in all things?

You have turned children against their parents and told them it is okay to disrespect them if they are not doing things according to the ways of Calvary Temple. The Bible clearly states that parents are to be honored and you have twisted that and told the children that their parents are only to be honored if they are doing things how you want them done.

Bob, there is so much more that could be said, but I am going to leave it be for now. You are easily angered when someone brings up your past or if someone calls you out scripturally on something you are doing wrong. You need to get on your face before God and ask for forgiveness, ask those that you have harmed not only physically, but also those that were harmed emotionally and spiritually by your defiance of the scriptures that were brought to you proving that you are wrong and wanting things your way instead of how God wants them. Lastly, you need to step down and turn Calvary Temple over to someone who will truly lead your congregation in the direction that God has instructed. Remember that God is a jealous God and your congregation, including your wife, daughter, and granddaughters have made you an idol. God brings down idols, don’t let Him bring you down without you asking for forgiveness.
