Another Twisted Scripture Update

Feeling fairly certain that Star Scott reads the blogs about Calvary Temple, I wondered how he would refute the previous post. Entitled Another Twisted Scripture by Star Scott, Scott erroneously taught that scripture commands us to meet at the church daily. It has come to my attention that he backtracked rather quickly.

And here is how Scott did it: one of his associates, during a panel discussion, gave Scott an out by referring to daily church attendance as "our tradition".  No longer is it a biblical command as he had previously taught, it is now just a "tradition".

This opens the door to referring to other unscriptural commands as traditions.

And so Calvary Temple members are now obligated to follow whatever directives the pastors come up with. Could be anything, even though it may not have any clear biblical mandate. Anything like:
  • no dating
  • ridiculously short engagements
  • only marrying people within Calvary Temple
  • marrying those you don't love because you have no other choices
  • encouraging divorce for "spiritual" adultery
  • using money intended for outreach or building programs to buy cars for the pastors
  • no oversight of church finances
  • shunning those who have left Calvary Temple
  • destroying families
  • never leaving to attend another church without pastor's permission
  • putting a mother of 5 children in a hotel for more than 3 months
  • remaining separate from other local churches because other churches are just not good enough
  • putting children out on the street because the children have doubts about their beliefs
I am sure members of Calvary Temple can think of lots of "traditions" that they have to hold to even though they are not convinced they are biblical.

Mark 7:13 "Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that."
