To Star Scott,

As pastor of Calvary Temple in Sterling, VA, and nearing the end of your life, I notice you have been talking of your past much more frequently these days. It seems your thoughts have turned to the legacy you will leave behind.

A recent tragic event took place that catapulted your legacy to the forefront of my thinking. The blog Dear Calvary Temple received a comment from a Calvary Temple member’s step father telling of the tragic loss of his wife. It is also recounted on this blog. Their story made me realize you might be wondering how you will be remembered in years to come.

Every family and individual listed below has been part of your life's work. Many have experienced the destruction of their family as a direct result of your teachings, divorces at your encouragement, loss of relationships with friends or family members, or spiritual abuse. In addition, there are some who have experienced sexual, emotional and physical abuse.

As you have said before, there are THOUSANDS who have either fled your church, or been ordered to leave. All have been shunned by those still remaining in Calvary Temple. You have instructed your congregation to cut off relationship with those who have left….because “they are already dead.”

(How did it affect you when you learned that the woman you had pronounced “already dead” took her own life just weeks later? How did Patrick, her own son, feel? What does he tell his children that have lost their beloved grandmother? Does he wonder if his mother might still be alive if she had not had a death sentence pronounced over her?)

In addition to those have left or been put out of your church, your legacy will be remembered by every member of your congregation that still remains. They will remember the family and friends they have cut off at your  command. Yes, you have a legacy and it will continue on past your time on this earth.

It may have become difficult to remember so many that have been part of your history, so let me help you out.

The following is a partial list of those who have left Calvary Temple through the years and would certainly like to talk with you of how you have affected their lives, your legacy. Though some might not want to talk to you directly, rest assured most talk with one another frequently. And they talk to their neighbors and co-workers, their family and friends.

Again, this is a partial list. There are many, many others. Multiple friends, family members, and extended family not mentioned here that have spent years suffering the consequences of your teachings.

There are many who continue to pray for you to humble yourself and repent. It's not too late.  But time is short and you should not hesitate.

Lev. 20:9 If there is anyone who curses his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his bloodguiltiness is upon him.

Matthew 15:4. For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.’

Proverbs 20:20 - Whoever curses his father or his mother,
His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.

Deu 27:16 Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

1 Tim 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Star Scott and The Destruction of Families

Over the past weeks, Star Scott has been preaching an escalated version of his twisted doctrine. By using the very rare biblical example of "marking" (also known as "shunning" or "putting away") Scott has ordered his congregants to cut off relationships with friends and family members through marking and divorce.

According to Star Scott himself, as well as the other pastors, Star Scott is to be considered the voice of God, to be obeyed without question. Because of these recent messages, nearly every member of Calvary Temple must now do one or more of the unthinkable: divorce their spouse, put their child out of their home, stop speaking to grandchildren, cut off relationship with parents or grandparents, shun anyone who no longer attends Calvary Temple, and reject anyone who refuses to do the same.

The following is a condensed version of Star Scott's recent talking points designed to bring destruction to families, marriages and friendships.

  • ANYONE who leaves Calvary Temple, FOR ANY REASON, is to be considered apostate. It doesn't matter if they profess to be a Christian.
  • If this person is attending another church, the newly attended church must be EXACTLY THE SAME as Calvary Temple in doctrine and in its application.
  • However, if said person is attending a church Star Scott considers EXACTLY THE SAME as Calvary Temple, they are expected to repent and return to CT. Because if the doctrine is the same, why would you attend another church?
  • Anyone who continues to have contact with a marked person is also to be marked.
  • In a marriage, if either partner leaves Calvary Temple, they are to be considered apostate. If, after a period of time, they do not repent and return to Calvary Temple, the spouse inside of CT is strongly encouraged to divorce.
  • If a Calvary member feels reluctant to divorce their spouse, Star Scott tells them they are rebellious and refusing to do the word of God.
  • Divorce is God's way of purifying the home and Calvary Temple from leaven. Therefore, Jesus will bring divorce in order to purify your home.
  • If a child's parents leave Calvary Temple, another family should take in the children so they do not have to leave also. The children should be taught to desire leaving their family in order to remain in Calvary Temple.
  • People who have left Calvary Temple, including children and spouses, are to be considered dead, therefore, no relationship is possible. Because by order of Star Scott, you are to be the first to "kill them" (by treating them as dead).
As said above, this is a condensed version of recent messages from Star Scott and his staff. If you are alarmed, you should be. For many years, Calvary Temple has been putting this message forward. In recent weeks, the message has been intensified. Leaving Calvary Temple and not returning has always been, and continues to be, the unpardonable sin. Its consequences have now been expanded.

You may ask why there is such an emphasis on division of families, marriages, and friends within Calvary Temple. Please understand that Star Scott MUST teach this message. He cannot have members of his congregation learn the truth about his false doctrine, his coverup of sexual and physical abuses, financial offenses, as well as the multiple investigations by law enforcement and government agencies. One way for members to learn the truth is to talk to those outside of CT.

For this same reason, Star Scott strongly urges his church members to refrain from reading anything about Calvary Temple on the internet. If you want to know the truth, please call anyone who has left Calvary Temple. We can have a conversation, whether you decide to stay or leave. And if that's too intimidating, contact another pastor or ministry and ask for advice. Or do some research on line. Or better yet, study the Word for yourself, yes, LIKE THE BEREANS. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and listen for the still, small voice within, for it is He who leads us into all truth.

A Family on the Brink of Destruction

The following is a letter from Dear Calvary  Reprinted here with permission:

In the Sunday night service of February 20, 2022, Star Scott spoke of a marriage and family about to be destroyed. He referenced a wife that attends Calvary Temple and her husband who does not.

Some of the comments Star Scott made concerning this situation are: “There is conflict, it could go into that realm that ends up in divorce. The man… is a professed atheist. Who is now telling the church how it’s supposed to act …his  nose is out of joint”.  (How very sad to hear a pastor speak of a man that Jesus died for, possibly on the brink of losing his family and even his own soul, as “his nose is out of joint”.)

My questions to this wife are:

Did your husband physically commit adultery?

Matthew 19:8-9 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife [or husband], except for immorality, and marries another woman [or man] commits adultery.”

Did your husband physically abandon you?

1 Corinthians 7:12-15 "To the rest I say…… If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

If your answer is no to these questions, then the referenced scriptures are your directives from God.

If you are feeling confused, please hit the brakes and slow down. You do not have to rush into divorce. Please seek other pastoral counsel outside of Calvary Temple.  This is one of the most life altering decisions you will ever make, you must be very sure.

I wrote to a pastor in a Texas church that is known to be biblically sound. I asked him to respond to the recent teachings on divorce from Star Scott. Here is his response: “Christ never commands nor even encourages divorce and any teaching that does so is a gross distortion of the biblical text. While divorce may be acceptable in cases of physical adultery and physical abandonment, even then it is not demanded or encouraged. This church sounds less like a healthy church and more like a cult. I hope and pray that your friend not only chooses marriage, but also finds a church that won't distort the truth.”

This is just ONE pastor’s response - we could ask many others. And you should.

1 Corinthians 7:16 How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

Your home is your mission field. You can be God’s instrument to see your husband brought into the kingdom. God is not willing that any should perish and you are in the God ordained position of winning your husband to the Lord, of being a light in your household. Jesus died for your husband, he is precious to God. Please give yourself some time to clear your head and realize you have a choice.

Malachi 2:16 16 “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.

1 Peter 3:1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives.

Guest Post

A recent post from Thoughts on Calvary Temple:

Star Scott & Sexual Abuse
Feb 18
Written By Amani Baris

It seems that Star Scott sexually abused his 9 and 11 year old nieces. Here's the evidence for the allegations:

Lack of Denial

His son originally made the claim. He emailed it out to everyone. The pastors asked everyone to delete the email without reading it. Most did.

Why did Star ask everyone to delete that email?

Put yourself in his shoes for a second and pretend that you are innocent. Your son, a bitter young man, just accused you of sexually abusing two children. Would you run and tell everyone to delete that email? Or would you address it head on?

"That wasn't true." "It's all a blatant lie." "Here are the nieces who can defend me." "Here's why Star Jr. thinks that." "Here's what happened instead, and I'm sorry it happened."

Instead, "Don't read the email."

The next church service, after the reveal, the pastors gathered on the stage and said, "There were some things in the article that weren't correct." They described it as adultery (a very positive way of describing pedophilia). They never ever stated that it didn't happen.

Since then, articles and blogs have made reference to it, but there has been zero denial.

Supporting Conversations

A former member and good friend of one of the nieces that were abused sent a scathing email to Star Scott II. She stated that by sharing that information, he was removing her agency to share or not share the abuse. While she was extremely upset about Star revealing the information, she also confirmed that it happened.

There is also a recording from Star that has made its way around the ex-CT members several years ago. It was a personal conversation between Star and a former member. Star was asked about the email from his son sent several years prior. Star said that the email was correct, but there were some differences. The ages might have been different. He said that it happened when he was a youth pastor in California before he came to Herndon, and the Herndon church leadership had no idea (this brings into question the miraculous story of how Star and his family made it to Herndon).

Finally, a Washington Post reporter spoke with one of the nieces who was abused. She confirmed the story for the reporter and allowed her to publish the result. However, the niece did not press charges.

Why This Matters

This was a long time ago, and the children are grown. Redemption means that Star is forgiven, and it's "just as if I never sinned."

Unfortunately Scripture has different standards for pastors. Even after forgiveness, a pastor must be "above reproach" so that the word of god be not ashamed. Read that entire Scripture….there isn't any missing context. Instead Star was a youth pastor who moved into another pastoral role in Herndon.

Also, pedophilia is not typically an inclination that ever goes away. Catholic priests who have their perverseness discovered are often moved to another diocese where they commit the same crime. Janet was famous for keeping Star away from young girls. And when Janet died, he married a 19 yr old two weeks later.

As a Christian, Star should be treated like a forgiven sinner. As a pastor, he should have stepped down.

The Results

Years later, much has been made about the "Ex-CT" members. How they are a bitter bunch who just couldn't follow God's Word, so they fell by the way side.

But there is a large group of these members who have been separated from their family because they attempted to share these accusations against Star with their families. Now their family will have nothing to do with them.

Star Scott abused children and attempts to hide it. He's exposed, so he tells everyone not to pay attention. Then he proceeds to cut off anyone who provides evidence and uses their family as leverage to force silence. That's not the actions of a repentant individual. It's the actions of a guilt-ridden man.

The damage that Star has done to protect his crime has been more hurtful than the crime itself.

What Should You Do?

• Ask Star about this. Show him the Scripture and see how he answers.

• Ask yourself if the actions taken, both during the sexual abuse and after are the actions of a repentant man.

• Figure out how you choose to act toward Star and others.

Note:

• If you feel like leaving, please contact my website. I will be happy to work with you to talk about steps. You don't have to do it alone.

• If you don't feel like leaving, I'm not worried. In Calvary we're used to being told what to do. My intention is to only give you some additional perspective. Just be aware of the sacrifices you're making (financial, emotional, familial, etc).

• If you think I'm completely wrong, tell me! I promise I will be honest, kind, and open to hearing your view.

Are You Afraid to Ask Questions? Cancel culture in America and in Calvary Temple of Sterling, VA

The culture of America has radically changed in recent decades. Where once we were a nation built on Judeo-Christian values, we are now being forced to accept beliefs far removed from our own long cherished values. Once beloved hallmarks of our free society are now considered a danger to our country. We have experienced the loss of freedoms previously taken for granted. Questioning this shift from conservative biblical beliefs to another unbiblical ideology often results in the questioner being "canceled".

Why do I address the loss of liberty? Those who have left Calvary Temple (and I suspect many still within CT) know why. Loss of our God-given freedoms is as evident in CT as it is in our country.   Members of CT are forced to accept leadership's traditions as though they are biblical truths. There are rules in place that control many aspects of your lives even though you do not agree 100%. The teachings sometimes seem harsh and restrictive. And asking too many questions may cause you to experience a CT version of "cancel culture". You may feel "watched". Speaking out against Calvary Temple and its destructive policies may result in you being the victim of an attack on your reputations and family relationships. You will be encouraged to isolate yourself from loved ones. Even to divorce your spouse because they have questioned some of the teachings. You will find yourself labeled a heretic, backslider, or defector.

What God-ordained, biblical freedoms might you lose or already lost as a member of Calvary Temple?

  • When you embrace only one another inside of CT, you lose the freedom to maintain close ties with your natural family outside of CT.
  • When turning down a job promotion requiring a move or longer hours, you reject the freedom to be led by God into new areas of service and ministry.
  • When believing you can only marry someone within Calvary Temple, you deny God's leading to a life's mate. (scripture says to refrain from being unevenly yoked. Marrying within CT only confirms the criticism that CT leadership believes ONLY CT can produce a godly life mate.)
  • When rejecting a call into ministry not chosen by CT leadership, you allow men to guide your life rather than the freedom to be led by God.
  • When you believe Calvary Temple has more of the answers (or even all), you diminish the universal church as a whole and give up the freedom to hear from other men of God.
  • When you no longer believe God can move you to another church, you reject His guidance in your life.
  • When you believe other churches are not "as good" as Calvary Temple, you elevate your pastor above God and diminish His work in our world.
  • When you read only church approved materials, you lose freedom to learn from other men/women of God.
  • When you are too busy with activities at Calvary Temple, you have lost the freedom to minister to family, friends, or neighbors inside or outside of CT.
  • When you shun those who have left Calvary, you lose the freedom to hear another's perspective of why they left or to possibly speak into their lives if you see reason to do so.
  • When afraid to question the decisions of CT's leadership, you place government (leadership of Calvary Temple) above God. You lose your God-ordained freedom.

John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

Galatians 4:4-7 – "But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir."

Galatians 5:1 – "So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law."

Calvary Temple has become a place of rules and requirements that control nearly every aspect of your life, and you don't seem to notice. I suggest leaving before you lose your spouse and family.

Kevin O'Connor Sentence

It has been too many years, too many delays, too many coverups (by the leadership and membership of Calvary Temple in Sterling, Virginia), and much too much freedom for degenerate Kevin O'Connor. Nearly 18 years have passed since rapist O'Connor changed the life of one young child forever. But due to the bravery and resolve of the victim, this disgusting piece of crap was finally sentenced. For these crimes, he should be in jail for the rest of his life. But on December 17, 2020, the twisted deviant known as Kevin O'Connor had HIS life changed forever. He will now publicly be known as a perpetrator of the most heinous of crimes - stealing the innocence of a trusting and defenseless little girl. He can now take his place among other lowlife predators on the National Sex Offender Registry. He is a convicted sexual child abuser. He is on strict probation for a year and has to attend classes for sex offenders. "Guilty" is on his permanent record. It is not nearly enough punishment, but nothing could be. When this odious creep steps into eternity, the real justice will begin. https://loudounnow.com/2020/12/18/sterling-man-sentenced-to-probation-for-2003-sexual-assault-of-minor/

Joey Simoneau, Sarah Foster, Jon Fitch, Sarah Kain, Joshua Fitch, Christina Konczal and Wendy Perozich

Throughout the years (at Calvary Temple) there have been teachings about honoring your parents. However, the practice at Calvary has been to shun your parents if they leave or disagree with CT. If you are to honor your parents, why are you instructed to curse them? It is because of the subtle twisting of the 5th commandment of God done by Star Scott.

According to your pastor, the 5th commandment is changed from this:

"Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.  Exodus 20:12."

to this:

Honor your father and mother in the Lord, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Here it is in Star Scott's own words - (the creation of a new "scripture"):

"Did you know the one (commandment) that Paul speaks about in the epistles in the New Testament says that you're to honor your father and mother in the Lord, and it's the first commandment with promise" (I am that I am pt 4 November 2008).

Do you see the problem? He has misquoted and changed the meaning of Exodus 20:12 by combining it with Ephesians 6:1.

Honor your father and mother (Ex 20:12)  plus
Obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.   (Eph 6:1)

Now becomes:  Honor your father and mother in the Lord.

However, the 5th commandment is not speaking to the actions of the father or mother, it is speaking to the actions of the son or daughter.

We are to honor our parents. Period. Please read and understand the following verses. God speaks directly to children dishonoring their parents - as you are doing.

Matthew 15: 3- 9 Why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, "Honor your father and mother" and "Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death". But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is 'devoted to God,' they are not to 'honor their father or mother' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: These people honor me with their lips but their hearts are from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.

Ezekiel 21:17  He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.

Ephesians 6:1 speaks of obeying your parents in the Lord and Ephesians 6:2 speaks of honoring your parents - two different commands to children.

Honoring your parents is to be done whether or not they are "in the Lord". Therefore, "in the Lord" is not part of Ephesians 6:2 or Exodus 20:12.

But obeying them is limited if their instruction is not consistent with scripture (or, in the Lord) as stated in Ephesians 6:1.

You have been taught to dishonor your parents and to disobey a clear biblical commandment.

Joey Simoneau, Sarah Foster, Jon Fitch, Sarah Kain, Joshua Fitch, Christina Konczal, and Wendy Perozich:

...if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  Revelation 22:19

Covid-19 and Calvary Temple

These past months have been very stressful as we face a battle against a wicked enemy, Covid 19. In some ways it can be likened to a war-zone, though we are fighting against an enemy we cannot see. As the days pass, we hope and pray for a return to normal.

But there is another war-zone many of us have been in much longer; the fight to to see our families and friends set free from the wicked grasp of Calvary Temple. This battle is not invisible and we cannot take a pill or a vaccine to bring healing. We are not sure if there will ever be a return to normal.

Most of us have families that we can walk with and lean on during these difficult days of "sheltering at home". But what of those that have had their families ripped from them by Calvary Temple and its leadership? They no longer have part or all of their families to comfort them during this pandemic. Many have had their lives destroyed by Star Scott and his followers. Emotional distress. Psychological torment. Physical and sexual abuse. Entire families ripped apart.
  • Parents who have not seen their daughter in many years and have never met their grandchildren. They have NO contact with them. And yet Star Scott blames them for dividing their own family.
  • A husband and wife that have not seen their son in 10 years and have never met their two grandchildren. And yet Star Scott blames them.
  • A young man who has had to legally fight to see his children and rarely sees his parents. And yet Star Scott blames him.
  • A mother and father that lost 4 children and 7 grandchildren to a lie. A lie that they are responsible for losing their children, that they are at fault.
  • A  husband who lost his wife at the direction of CT leadership. And he is blamed.
  • A young man that was so emotionally battered by Star Scott and his evil cohorts - that to this day is still working to rebuild his life. But he is told he was at fault.
  • A woman who has lost her daughter and has a grandchild on its way that she may never meet. Yet she is to blame.
  • A daughter who has lost her parents and sisters. She has been condemned by the pastors and her own parents to hell.
  • A young woman who lost more than can be counted at the hands of those she trusted.
  • Two children (now adults) who have publicly denounced Star Scott for the sexual abuse they endured. Scott blamed the children.
I can look back through the years and name countless other families that suffered great loss at the hand of Star Scott and yet he says THEY are at fault. Every single one.

Their "sin" is they either left Calvary Temple (for any number of reasons) or they disagreed with, criticized, or asked too many questions about Star Scott. Leaving his kingdom (or being forced out) is the unpardonable sin; your punishment is loss of friends and families.

According to Star Scott, everyone who leaves is in the wrong and Scott is the only one who is right. It has been said repeatedly from the pulpit of CT that there is NEVER a good reason to leave, and if you do, your life will be destroyed.

And here is a very sad thing - most of us KNEW it would happen if we left. It's why many of us stayed for so long. And those inside Calvary Temple know it also. So they stay.

But if you do leave Calvary Temple, Star Scott will make sure that you lose everything and he will say it is YOUR fault.

The Art of the Double Message

Having attended Calvary Temple, I am well aware that what is spoken from the pulpit often has a double or hidden message. Star Scott is skilled at "preaching" the word of God, using lots of Biblical verses and spiritual sounding phrases, but all the while putting forth another message that will cause the listeners to hear and absorb something very different.

Consider the following excerpt from the blog post entitled He Said That? Pt 2

"I asked Greer this morning, "How would you summarize the message of the last six months? What have you heard over the last six months of our teachings? She thought for a minute, she said", "women are evil....I know that's how a woman is hearing it." (Ezra and Nehemiah Dec 2008)

Women are evil..........Scott never once said those words or anything like it yet Greer rightly said that this is what women (and you can be sure the men also) heard.

As many of us sadly know, it has long been the practice of Calvary Temple members to cut off or greatly diminish any relationship with friends or family that have either left or do not attend CT. But ask any member if they have been told to shun their friends and loved ones; they will deny it. They will insist that any such actions are entirely their own decision. Sadly, many actually believe this to be true; certain that they are in charge of their own lives. But this is far from the truth. In actuality, Scott uses the pulpit to divide his followers from their families and friends with a cunning double message.

A "teaching" from October 30, 2019 called Achieving Nothingness Part 3  illustrates this verbal sleight of hand so familiar to many of us.

Can you find any compromise in your life over the last months? ...Are you standing up for the gospel on the job? Are you afraid of losing your job,.....friends? What about family? We’ve got family members and we’re going to hang out with them on Thanksgiving and we wanna show them we love them, and some of these people are flat out just sinners and railers and yet we compromise that somehow we are going to love them into the kingdom. No, no, no, no you're not! praise God. You are going to do what God says and HE will cause those to be added such as should be saved. Where is our boldness? Where is our desire for purity of application of the word of God?

(Before I continue, what is the difference between a "flat out sinner and railer" and just a regular sinner? Would it be ok if we hung out with a plain old everyday sinner but just not with a "flat out sinner and railer?")

On the surface, Scott does not appear to say anything that would directly forbid members from spending time with family and friends outside of Calvary Temple. But notice the seeds he plants; he talks about compromising the gospel and implies they are disobedient if they don't "do what God says...".  He repeats the word "compromise" in the context of wanting to "love them into the kingdom". He implies that they are bold and purely applying the word of God if they do not "hang out" with non-Calvary family on Thanksgiving. And he states that God does not use believers to draw loved ones into the kingdom.

He further emphasizes these thoughts with the following:

And I’ve stood and I’ve watched us as a people, at decisions that we make that are so worldly and carnal, that are not biblical decisions, they are cultural, nationalism, American, oh God we need to come out from among them and be separate.  (so being with family members is actually cultural, nationalistic and American but not Christ-like or biblical.)

How many times have we heard Star Scott or the other pastors use phrases like the following:
  • Why would you want to hang out with God-hater?
  • Why would you spend time with God-hating family when you can be ministering to the body?
  • Those that have left here are railers and dividers. They are reprobate.
  • We are handling things - stay away from those who have left, we know more than you do.
  • Those that do not attend CT do not get to enjoy the privilege of taking part in weddings, graduations or field trips.
  • Anyone who leaves Calvary Temple is backslidden.
  • Calvary Temple members that sacrifice their families are pleasing to God.
The conclusion? If you have a family member or friend that has left Calvary Temple and you think you can still love them and perhaps draw them to Christ, you are full of compromise, disobedience, and carnality. You have no desire for the pure word of God and you are not a bold believer. You are not separate from the world. But if you reject these same family members and friends, you are obeying God.

Those of us who attended Calvary Temple know the scriptures Scott would use to support his message of shunning. (do not be unequally yoked, bad company corrupts good morals, don't even eat with such a one, be ye separate.....).

But though Jesus surrounded Himself with faithful men, He often shared His love with others, whether believers or not.

Matthew 11:19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

Luke 5:29-32, "And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax-gatherers and other people who were reclining at the table with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, 'Why do you eat and drink with the tax-gatherers and sinners?' 31 And Jesus answered and said to them, 'It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.'”

Convincing Calvary Temple members to shun ALL who have left Calvary Temple depends on Star Scott's ability to group everyone into one God-hating, unsaved, reprobate, non-Christian category. Whether they are or aren't.

It is relatively easy for Star Scott to convince members to stay away from the "unbelievers"; but he has to work a little harder to convince them to stay away from professed Christians. How does he accomplish it? It's actually not that hard, just label everyone who has left without permission of leadership as "rebellious."  "Out of order. " "Disobedient." "Wayward."  Therefore, they need to repent to the pastors before they can be in "right standing". And the confession is never really enough to restore relationships. As some have been told, they just weren't sorry enough.

Their crime? They refuse to attend a church that has pastors and members known to be sexual abusers as well as physically, emotionally, spiritually and psychologically abusive.

So leaving Calvary Temple, for any reason, brings about the same consequence. You are to be avoided. Period. And CT'er, if you find yourself searching for an exception (of which there are a few), you are deceiving yourself.

And all of this brings up the question - Why? Why is it so important to keep members away from non-Calvary family and past friends? Because they know the truth about Star Scott, Ron Zarou, Dan Konczal, Forbe Carlson, Kevin O'Connor, Kimberly Heglund, other pastors and deacons and many members. Those who committed the atrocities and those who covered them up. Those who lied and those who kept silent.

New Trial Date for Kevin O'Connor

Trial Set for Former Church Deacon Charged with Sexual Assault of Minors

The former deacon of a Sterling church accused of molesting two teen girls 17 years ago will get his day in court this summer.
Kevin O’Connor, the 64-year-old former deacon of Calvary Temple Ministries in Sterling, was indicted in August, 2018, in a 2003 case involving allegations of sexual abuse against two children. This week, his trial was rescheduled for June 8-11.
O’Connor is charged with forcible sodomy; two counts of aggravated sexual battery by force, threat or intimidation of victims aged 13 or 14; two counts of indecent liberties with a child by custodian; and two counts of aggravated sexual battery by mental incapacity or physical helplessness.
O’Connor’s trial was scheduled for Jan. 6-9 but was delayed after the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office on Dec. 17 requested the court appoint a special prosecutor, since Attorney Matthew P. Snow formerly represented one of the essential witnesses in the case. Under Circuit Court Judge Jeanette A. Irby’s Jan. 9 order, Scott Hook, the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fauquier County, will now prosecute the case. Snow has since joined the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office as the department’s chief deputy.
Between April 1 and May 3, 2003, O’Connor allegedly sexually abused two girls aged between 13 and 15 years old. The case was initially reported to the Sheriff’s Office in May 2003, but prosecutors declined to pursue charges at that time. The Sheriff’s Office began re-examining the case in 2012 and arrested O’Connor on Aug. 6, 2018.
O’Connor was initially held without bond. On Aug. 21, 2018, Irby approved O’Connor’s released from jail on a $10,000 secured bond and required him to wear a GPS monitoring device and have no unsupervised contact with minors, among other terms.
Some former Calvary Temple congregation members have claimed that numerous incidents of physical and sexual abuse have occurred at the church. Those critics have described the church as cult-like in its manipulation and control of members and their families.

Update on Kevin O'Connor Trial

The trial of Kevin O’Conner (for six counts of child abuse and molestation) previously scheduled for January 6, 2020, has been once again postponed. The current reason given involves a "conflict of interest" within the Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. According to the docket, the new trial date should be set on 1/14/20. We will keep you updated.

He Said That? Pt. 7 (Forcing "Unity" with Fear and Intimidation)

In a recent message (Body Building Part 1 3-17-19) at Calvary Temple, Star Scott reprimands his followers concerning gossip and strife in the church. It seems many have been running wild with criticizing and accusing one another. He instructs them that it is their own pride that causes them to attack one another and act as though they can police one another.

Listen to his own words as he takes on the persona of the average congregant:

Why can’t I keep my mouth shut? What is it that compels me? Pride, self will, haughtiness, that thinks it’s the end of all truth, that we have to police others, judge others. The scripture tells us if we are going to endeavor to keep this unity, we’re gonna have to come to understand clearly and put a guard over our lips.....

Scott continues...

but we’re gonna have to understand clearly what’s being spoken of here when it talks about Him having placed gifts in our midst, that will see to it that this unity manifests itself, policemen if you please, teachers, prophets, pastors, evangelists, apostles, that are in our midst to remind us of the necessity of harmony and unity.

In order to keep unity, Scott informs the people that the pastors can do exactly what he tells them they cannot do - police one another and judge one another. Among the members of the congregation, policing and judging one another is pride, self-will, and haughtiness. Among the pastors, policing the people is THEIR JOB. As a matter of fact, take note that Scott includes the title of policemen within the list of the "five fold ministry gifts."

Scott recently advised his congregation "You know usually, when we ask a question like that, we try to be like as smart as the lawyers, I’m gonna help some of you, if you ever have done anything wrong and you’re in a meeting with us and we ask you a question, we already know the answer. We don’t ask questions we don’t know the answers to. We're trying to see if you're going to confess."

...just that one statement - "and you're in a meeting with us and we ask you a question, we already know the answer" - reeks of a man full of his own self-importance, pride, arrogance and disdain for the very people he is supposed to be serving.

So, keeping the "unity" in Calvary Temple appears to require the following:
  1. The pastors are like policemen. But 1 Peter 5:3 speaks of the leaders "not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."
  2. The pastors are all knowing - when you are called in to a meeting they already know the answers to their questions. How do they know what someone has done? Are they spying on you? But scripture says: 1Kings 8:39 You alone [God] know the hearts of all the sons of men.
  3. Because they already know the answers to all their questions, the pastors do not need to engage in dialog with you, they are just "trying to see if you will confess".  But John 7:51 says "Does our law condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing?" Proverbs 18:13 He who answers a matter before he hears it--this is folly and disgrace to him.
  4. Calvary Temple pastors are like lawyers. Scott does not say they try to be as upstanding, honest, and fair-minded as lawyers. No, the implication is they are as calculating, devious, and shrewd as lawyers. "as smart as lawyers".  "We already know the answer...."  We're trying to see if you're going to confess."
It is a losing proposition to have a meeting with the pastors. (or anyone in leadership). When you walk in you must be ready to be treated like a disobedient child - not speaking a word - admitting your so-called guilt - and leave with your head hung down in shame and remorse.

The bottom line is the pastors have all knowledge and complete control over your lives. If they say come in for a meeting, you are too afraid to say no and even too afraid to defend yourself. You are already judged guilty. The message is always the same - they are in charge, you are to submit. They hold all the power; you are insignificant, irrelevant, and most definitely guilty.

Galatians 2:4 This issue arose because some false brothers had come in under false pretenses to spy on our freedom in Christ Jesus, in order to enslave us.

Calvary Temple, you have been enslaved.

Jer 23:11    An appalling and horrible thing has happened....the prophets prophesy falsely, and rule on their own authority, and my people love it so!

Star Scott has systematically stripped Calvary Temple members the ability and blessing of hearing from God for themselves and their families. He has placed himself as the one to hear from God, and like Moses, come down from the mountain and speak to the people. And the people are expected to consider it the word of the Lord and obey Scott's directives.

But God has something different for the believer in Jesus Christ. He expects us to seek God daily for His provision, to know the word of God for ourselves, and to be led by His Holy Spirit. The role of the 5 fold ministry is to equip the saints, not lord it over them.  Adult men are priests of their own households, women are helpmeets to their own husbands. Children are under the care and admonition of their own parents.

Men and women of Calvary Temple, stop giving control of your lives and households to the leadership. Stop being treated like children that are too "stupid to come out of the rain". (Yes, Star Scott has said that about you.) Star Scott is not a policeman, he is not a lawyer, he is not Moses, he is not the High Priest, he is not the Holy Spirit, he is not your God. And sadly, he is not your pastor.

Matthew 7:15   Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

WARNING!

Calvary Temple is holding their summer car show Saturday, August 17th. I realize many members of the community attend the show, believing that because they are not being charged admission, it is a day of entertainment that costs nothing. But sadly, the cost to many of your fellow citizens has been very high. Families have been divided and even destroyed by the harmful policies of Calvary Temple. Children have suffered at the hands of leadership and members. The Loudoun County Sheriff's department continues to investigate Calvary Temple, including accusations of child sexual abuse. Please, do not support Calvary Temple with your attendance at any of their functions. And please never attend their church - the cost will be far more than you can imagine.

ADVERTENCIA

Spring 2019: Warning to Sterling, VA and the Surrounding Communities About Calvary Temple

I am using last year’s warning, but I am adding an update – Since this warning was issued in 2018, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has arrested and arraigned Calvary Temple member and former deacon Kevin O’Conner, who will stand trial at the end of this month for six counts of sexual abuse with a minor.
I do not want this to happen to your child or to your children. I do not want your family destroyed. Please, please, please – stay FAR AWAY from Calvary Temple:
For over ten years now, my fellow standers and I have been warning anyone and everyone about Calvary Temple. Four years ago was our first active protest. We protested their “free” Kids Easter event. We protested their car shows. We protested their “free” sports and cheer camps that summer. Each Sunday we stood across the street and protested for a year.
While we are no longer physically standing out in all weather holding signs, we continue to warn. We continue to speak out. We continue to hope and pray that no unsuspecting person will venture into that place thinking that it is a safe haven for families. It is not.
Please, as the below warning states – do a simple Google search. Read the countless articles, personal accounts and testimonies, news articles.
I woke up [again] this morning thinking, “How are thousands of people wrong?”
We aren’t.
Remember, “free” is never really free. If you choose to enter onto the grounds of Calvary Temple, there is a price to pay.
“Calvary Temple in Sterling, VA is a dangerous place for families. Please stay away. It is currently under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for allegations of child sexual abuse. Just do a Google search and please warn others. Numerous families have suffered by attending this place.”https://mycalvarytempletacticsblogcommentary.wordpress.com/2019/04/13/spring-2019-warning-to-sterling-va-and-the-surrounding-communities-about-calvary-temple/?fbclid=IwAR09ydxqnui2J74C4anBqVguluAAimRx0CNGqlr3hGUWRzMiAbD5Wb5T0DE
